Fees

When it comes to commissions and fees, Tickmill is the cheaper pick for most active forex traders. It offers a commission-free Classic account, but its Raw account is the one that stands out for low trading costs, with tight spreads and a $3 per side commission per 100,000 units. Even after the recent increase in commission, Tickmill still ranks highly for pricing and is designed to keep all-in trading costs low.

Plus500 is simpler, but usually more expensive overall. Its pricing sits slightly above the industry average, and it does not offer retail discounts. For EUR/USD, Plus500’s average spread was 1.5 pips in April 2024, which is higher than many top competitors. It does offer cash rebates for eligible Professional clients, but for most retail traders, its costs are not as competitive as Tickmill’s.

Star ratings and rankings: Plus500 is rated 4.0 out of 5 stars and ranks #24 out of 36 for Commissions and Fees. Tickmill is rated 4.5 out of 5 stars and ranks #10 out of 36. In short, Tickmill has the edge on lower fees, while Plus500 is better suited to traders who prefer a straightforward pricing setup.
